fileNice 1.0 released! 15 August 2005

Yes, it’s true, it’s finally here. fileNice 1.0 is released.
This version adds some really useful features too including a search facility and sorting of the file lists based on settings in the prefs. There’s a bunch of nerdy tech improvements too which I won’t bore you with. Anyway, have a look for yourself at the demo.

fileNice - updated again 6 June 2005

A small but good and important update. I’ve rewritten the ajax stuff as it wasn’t properly asynchronous before. What this means to the end user is that the browser doesn’t freeze when opening a folder with a lot of files in it. It also means you get a nice “busy” state while it’s doing stuff so the user knows it’s, well, busy.

So, check it out.

Also, I forgot to thank Ross for pointing out the earlier security hole. Thanks Ross.

fileNice - public beta 19 May 2005

So, the php file browser I wrote is back with a new name and some fancy new features. fileNice features slideshows of image folders without reloading the page, a send to Flickr function, much faster initial load, skinnability and some other stuff which I can’t remember right now.

This is the final beta version before a full 1.0 release so feedback is more than welcome as are some new skins.

So, have a play with the demo, read the readme, download, install, run and let me know what you think.

EUWDPC file browser 1.7 20 April 2005

This is probably the final release before it gets a complete rewrite, a ton of fancy new features and new name. Now with better sorting and when browsing a folder full of images you get Previous and Next links below each picture for easier browsing.
