fileNice 1.1

fileNice 1.1

Thanks to Christian Bloch, fileNice has come out of hibernation with some bug fixes and enhancements. For your file browsing pleasure, Christian has…

  • fixed the spaces in folder/filenames issue
  • made it work with capitalised extensions
  • added subdirectory encoding: This is pretty cool, you can now send out links to subdirectories that are treated as an artificial root level. Clicking the > symbol next to a folder will take you in to browsing that folder.
  • UBB code in all file details
  • added auto-select text to all the code fields.
  • contributed a dark skin

Thanks Christian, you rock.

Additionally, I’ve fixed a security issue with the search. Upgrading is advisable.

fileNice 1.0 released!

Yes, it’s true, it’s finally here. fileNice 1.0 is released.
This version adds some really useful features too including a search facility and sorting of the file lists based on settings in the prefs. There’s a bunch of nerdy tech improvements too which I won’t bore you with. Anyway, have a look for yourself at the demo.

fileNice - updated again

A small but good and important update. I’ve rewritten the ajax stuff as it wasn’t properly asynchronous before. What this means to the end user is that the browser doesn’t freeze when opening a folder with a lot of files in it. It also means you get a nice “busy” state while it’s doing stuff so the user knows it’s, well, busy.

So, check it out.

Also, I forgot to thank Ross for pointing out the earlier security hole. Thanks Ross.

fileNice updated

Just a small security patch, no new features but anyone already using it should download and upgrade. Big thanks to Ross for pointing out the hole.
